Collaborations & Partnerships
Alaska Whale Foundation
AWF is located on Baranof Island, nearly 100 miles south of Inian Islands Institute. Their mission is conservation of Alaska’s amazing populations of marine mammals, through direct action, research, and education.
Through exploration and education, Discovery Southeast connects Southeast Alaskans with nature. Through introducing children and families to the outdoors, providing the foundation for lifelong passions, experiences, and curiosity, they promote a better understanding of ourselves, the natural world, and our place in it.
Glacier Bay National Park
Glacier Bay is one of the gems of the United States National Park System. Located just a few miles from the Inian Islands, it encompasses over 5000 square miles of protected fjords, glaciers, and temperate rainforest. We look forward to collaborating with Glacier Bay on education and scientific research!
Southeast Alaska Conservation Council
Since 1970, SEACC has been dedicated to protecting fish & wildlife habitat and improving community sustainability and resilience in Southeast Alaska. We are excited to work with SEACC to provide a strong voice for conservation of our great natural heritage!
After the first Stanford Sophomore College course in September 2013, a rousing success, Stanford has committed to at least 3 additional courses in Southeast Alaska with Inian Islands Institute. We look forward to continuing to host Stanford’s incredibly bright students!
